| My Approach |
Building Client Relationships...One meeting at a timeMy personal philosophy is that each client is an individual who is embarking on a unique journey towards retirement. Before we begin, I invest as much time as it takes to get to know you. I want to find out where you are right now, and where you envision yourself going. No two clients are exactly the same, which is why I believe it’s so important to work closely with clients to create a tailored financial plan.
A financial plan is like having a road map: its job is to guide you from where you are today to where you want to be. Unlike many other advisors, my focus is on offering you a comprehensive service, not on selling products.
My Four-Step ProcessStep 1 – Exploring and GatheringWe begin by meeting to discuss your personal circumstances and explore your goals and dreams.
Step 2 – AnalyzingNext, I take the information gathered from the exploration process and consult with the ScotiaMcLeod team of experts to develop specific recommendations for your personal financial plan.
Step 3 – PresentingI prepare your personal financial plan and present it to you at our next meeting.
Step 4 – Implementing and MonitoringTogether, we interpret the action plan and put it into practice. Going forward, as your long-term personal planner I help you to keep track of any changes in your life that may affect your plan.
The Investment Policy StatementAs the final part of the financial road map, I provide you with a customized Investment Policy Statement (IPS). The IPS lays out the strategies and processes we recommend to help you reach your long-term goals without exceeding your personal level of risk tolerance.
The main purpose of the IPS is to keep us on track. It is our road map to your goals. Working together, we can implement a financial plan that will help ensure you enjoy the kind of retirement you’ve always envisioned.
