Because I believe in the value of building and sustaining long-term relationships with clients, it’s important to me that we get to know each other. Since clients often have additional financial needs that will be met by other experts in my group, it’s important to provide information about them as well. On this page you’ll find more information on me and my professional background as well as profiles of other group experts.
I was 22 years old and had completed university before I began to buy RRSPs. The bank manager where I worked had just started contributing to a plan himself, and was amazed to learn that such a young man was already planning his future. Planning for the future has always been of paramount importance to me.
I attended Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, where I earned a business degree (BBA) majoring in finance and investments. I’ve continued my education by completing the following:
- Personal Financial Planner Designation (PFP) – Institute of Canadian Bankers
- Insurance Licensed – Life and Disability
- Canadian Securities Course
- Conduct and Practices Handbook Course
- Investment Funds Institute of Canada Course
I’ve been working in the financial services industry since 1989, and am a member of the Institute of Canadian Bankers (1989), the Canadian Securities Institute (1999) and the Canadian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (2000).
I’ve lived in Ottawa with my wife, Heather, for over 15 years. Most of our spare time is spent with our three children, who enjoy downhill skiing with us in the winter and spending time at our cottage in the summer. My hobbies include woodworking, horseback riding and working on the cottage.
I volunteer with my local community association and as President of the Ottawa Chapter of Acadia University’s Alumni Association. Please feel free to contact me any time. I look forward to speaking with you.
