s a Wealth Advisor with ScotiaMcLeod in Ottawa, I’ve been
advising clients on retirement and investing for over 12 years. My approach differs
significantly from that of most other advisors because it is distinctly
client-centered: The focus is on service, not sales. I believe it’s more
important to establish solid, long-term relationships with clients than to
simply sell them products. That’s why I’ve designed a unique four-step investment
process, known as the Road Map, to help clients meet their goals.
The first
step involves talking to clients about their needs and concerns to create a
customized investment policy statement. This is the cornerstone of my service-oriented
approach.

look beyond the numbers to explore lifestyle issues and other facets of
retirement. Helping clients understand what this major life transition may mean
for them is a significant part of my service.
